A Typical Week
We tend to have slow, lazy mornings. Most mornings, we walk our property together before heading inside to scramble some eggs and eat breakfast as a family.
During the day Ross stays busy fixing things or tackling a new project, while Kim and Matthew are usually nearby. Before nap we eat lunch as a family.
Evenings are all about connection. Dinners are prepared as a family. Matthew helps stir a pot or tosses food scraps in the compost. Ross handles the "splash zone" with bubble baths and teeth brushing, while Kim takes the lead on stories and bedtime songs. Once Matthew is tucked in, we (plus the three dogs) are snuggled on the couch watching a show with our favorite guilty pleasures: Doritos for Ross and Haagen-dazs Dulce de Leche ice cream for Kim.
If it’s the weekend, we’re likely heading to the family cabin. With Ross’s many cousins and their kids constantly running around, the cabin is a chaotic hub of laughter and play. It’s a place where your child will always have a cousin to play with on the beach and an extended family around.
